Simon James

Simon has over twenty years’ experience in local authority leadership, This includes posts of Director of Education and Early Help at Buckinghamshire Council, Deputy Director Children’s Services at the London Borough of Bexley, and Assistant Director at the London Borough of Barnet.

He has led complex and multiple services areas across Children’s Services, and managed large portfolios with budgets in excess of £300m and with over 350 staff. These have included statutory services for children and young people with special educational needs, school improvement, early Intervention and Educational Psychology Services, children’s commissioning, early Help and family support, and SEND.

Simon has a proven track record in delivering strategic leadership and transformational change. Simon is adept at ensuring top-quality services for service users.
