Mutual Ventures were delighted to sponsor the Health and Social Care award at the annual SEUK awards bash. Huge congratulations to Wellbeing Enterprises CIC, who won the award. They are a health and wellbeing social enterprise based in Runcorn and do quite amazing work with the local community.
From the MV team, Andrew and David attended along with Oliver (who was a guest of Social Enterprise of the Year contender PossAbilities). PossAbilities didn’t win but have done amazingly well – it’s hard to believe it has only been three years since we started working with them, and only two years since they launched.
Also a massive thanks to Nick and the team at SEUK for organising such a high quality event with nearly 400 people in attendance.
Writing in the awards programme, MV Director Andrew Laird said:
Mutual Ventures are delighted to be sponsoring the health and social care category.
This is a critical time for social enterprises delivering health and social care services. Many are facing the challenge of re-winning contracts. Competition from both the public and private sector is ruthless and sadly not all of our friends and colleagues have been successful.
On top of this, the devolution and integration agendas mean contracts will increasingly be let at scale and across broader service pathways. This is forcing many social enterprises to rethink how they engage with commissioners and how they work with each other to compete against larger providers.
Daunting as this all seems, it presents huge opportunities for social enterprises like those shortlisted for this award. They are delivering fantastic services but they are also showing real determination and creativity in facing the challenges that lie ahead. They are an example to us all.
