Client: North East Lincolnshire Health and Care Partnership
Date: April to August 2024
Challenges faced by the client:
North East Lincolnshire is in a unique position with strong existing partnerships between service providers across health, social care, and local government. North East Lincolnshire Health and Care Partnership identified that there was a time-limited opportunity to build on this foundation and establish itself as a forerunner for truly transformational and impactful place leadership.

North East Lincolnshire Health and Care Partnership’s overarching ambition is to develop and embed a new and improved way of working which puts local people and North East Lincolnshire as a “place” at the heart of everything. They wanted to move away from a system which encourages the prioritisation of individual organisations and individual services towards one where collaboration and co-operation to achieve a set of important shared goals is paramount.
In an initial workshop facilitated by Mutual Ventures, they identified their ultimate goal was to “improve health outcomes for people in NE Lincolnshire.”
Our support:
Mutual Ventures supported North East Lincolnshire to achieve its place leadership goals. Working with organisations across North East Lincolnshire from health, social care, and local government Mutual Ventures provided support by:
Completing a baselining exercise to understand North East Lincolnshire’s current position through interviews with senior leadership and staff surveys.
Delivering a series of workshops with senior stakeholders in North East Lincolnshire to develop a clear vision statement, develop a theory of change model to identify priority cohorts for support, a geographical footprint, and metrics to track progress.
Facilitating the development of a prioritisation framework.
Producing an action plan to implement Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INT). The ambition was for these new INTs to start with a pre-determined pilot area working with the priority groups identified during the theory of change before being considered for roll out across the rest of North East Lincolnshire.
Outcome achieved:
Mutual Ventures’ support helped North East Lincolnshire to develop and embed a new and improved way of working that puts local people and the place at the heart of everything. Following Mutual Ventures’ support, North East Lincolnshire will continue to test and embed new behaviours and ways of working with the ultimate aim of improving health outcomes for people in North East Lincolnshire.
